May 4th, 40 Years Later

This is the day that "commemorates" troops from our National Guard firing on and killing our own young citizens for the simple exercising of their 1st Amendment rights.

If Jefferson is correct that "the price of Liberty is eternal vigilance," it is worth reminding ourselves, at least once a year, that this atrocity can and did happen on our own soil, on a college campus, and, for me, on a college campus not far from where my own daughter currently attends.
